I'm very interested in history and till now I've only been reading South Indian history so it's really a revelation that Alexander coming to India was such a big thing! And I really never thought of Balochistan but now, I'm really intrigued. The Lasbela rock cut caves seem to me to be of Jain origin. The deccan ghats have similar caves thousands of them for traveling monks to take shelter. Jainism was a thriving religion till the 8th century. Each generation of a family had a monk. Renunciation and austerity are an important part of the religion.
You may be spot on about the Lasbela caves being of Jain origin. Though Sindh was mainly Buddhist at the time of the Arab inroads, Balochistan and Sindh too did have a sizeable Jain population.
